Night Vision Personal Viewing System (NVPVS)
The
Night Vision Personal Viewing System (NVPVS) is a small wireless camera system which installs onto the eyecup ring of the
PVS-14 and PVS-7B/D. The purpose of this system is to allow for covert night time observation utilizing equipment already
available. Users can conceal a standard issue night vision device, such as a PVS-14, in a hidden location which will allow
viewing without risk of exposure. The NVPVS also contains a standard video output jack which can be used in conjunction with
a weapon mounted PVS-14 and a head or helmet mounted display. The user can then use their weapon to acquire, identify and
target hostiles without direct exposure to enemy fire. The
NVPVS uses a standard 9 volt battery for up to eight hours of continuous use. The NVPSS can be installed with a positive locking
system using only one hand so that the user does not have to put his weapon down in order to use the device. The NVPVS has
been tested on calibers of 5.56/.223 and has not been affected by recoil.
